All Bellows students like to read. This is a list of books students should consider to put on their reading list:

  1. Wonder by R.J. Palico

In the story, a boy named August has facial differences that prevent him from going to school until 5th grade. August struggles to “keep his head above the water” and fit in.  Julian, the bully, makes it hard for him.  In the end,  August wins a special medal.  If you want to learn more, read the book.

  1. Magnus Chase and the Gods of Asgard, Book 3: The Ship of the Dead by Rick Riordan

In the story, Magnus Chase and his friends are trying to stop Ragnarok, the end of the world. Magnus travels from Boston to Alaska.  At the end, Magnus wins and the Gods rejoice.

  1. The Indian in the Cupboard by Lynne Reid Banks

This book is about a boy named Omri and a small plastic indian that comes to life if put in a cupboard.  When someone discovers their secret, Little Bear (the Indian) and Omri have to do everything that they can to stop him. If you wonder what will happen, read the book!

  1. Where the Red Fern Grows by Wilson Rawls

In the story, a boy named Billy saves up money for two years to buy two young hunting dogs.  Billy names them Old Dan and Little Ann and trains them to become the finest hunting team in the Valley.  Billy enters a competition that will change his life forever.  Read this book to find out more.  It is the best book I have ever read.

  1. Hatchet by Gary Paulsen

In this story, a boy named Brian finds himself alone in the Canadian wilderness with no idea how to survive.  Brian finds shelter, food and water and manages to survive for a few weeks.  Will he be rescued?  Read this book to find out!

I hope you enjoy all these books as much as I do.
