Introduction

Manuka honey is a type of honey that is sweet. This honey is made from the flower of a Manuka bush. They call manuka honey a sweet miracle. The honey is not made from Manuka bees because there is no such thing. The honey is made from regular honey bees who use the nectar of the manuka flower. How do they process the honey in the factory you may ask? They process the honey in the factory by putting it into machines to make sure that it is thick, sweet, and amazing.

The Supply Chain

The process of making Manuka honey begins with the honey bees collecting the nectar from the manuka flowers only during the spring and summer. Then, the bees fly back to their hives with the nectar that they have and seal it into wax cells. When it is in the wax cells it ripens into honey. This honey is then taken out of the honeycombs and sent in large drums to processing factories. These factories are either located in Cambridge, UK or Te Puke, New Zealand.

About  the Manuka Bush

The manuka bush is located in New Zealand and Australia. A manuka tree grows fifteen meters which is also forty- nine feet. The manuka tree can also be a growing shrub that gets to about two – five meters which is also seven – sixteen feet tall.

How to  Grow a Manuka Tree

First, you put the manuka tree into full sun or under areas that are very light. Second, spread a one – inch – thick layer of pine bark mulch around the base of the manuka tree to help suppress weeds. Third, water the manuka tree weekly to a depth of two inches during the first summer in the garden.

Conclusion

Manuka Honey is sweet, not savory and has a very interesting lifespan. This honey is different than normal honey because it has different nectar.
