In the fall of 2017, Bruce Springsteen opened a Broadway Show for the first time, called Springsteen on Broadway.   Bruce can easily fill stadiums with over 50,000 fans, so he knew that having a venue with a limited number of seats would make it difficult to get tickets. To help people keep the prices down, he allowed fans to register in advance for a chance to get a code.  If a person received the code, they were able to purchase tickets.  Tickets are also available on ticket sites where they can cost over one thousand dollars! The first seven days of sales made over 2.33 million dollars!

During the show, Bruce Springsteen reads sections from his book and tells stories from his life.  Bruce sings fifteen songs, including the following:  Dancing in the Dark; Growin’ Up; My Hometown; My Father’s House; The Wish; Thunder Roads; The Promised Land;  Born In The U.S.A.; Tenth Avenue Freeze-Out;  Tougher Than The Rest; Brilliant Disguise; Long Walk Home; The Ring; Land Of Hope And Dreams and Born To Run.    Bruce sings Brilliant Disguise and Tougher than the Rest with his wife, Patti Scialfa. Bruce Springsteen said, “I wanted to do some shows that were as personal and as intimate as possible. I chose Broadway for this project because it has the beautiful old theaters which seemed like the right setting for what I had in mind.”

Bruce was born on September 23, 1949. The town he lived in is Long Branch, New Jersey. “The Boss” is his most famous nickname.   In 2016, Bruce was honored with the Presidential Medal of Freedom by President Obama.

The members of Bruce’s family are his wife, Patti Scialfa; Sam, the oldest son; Jessica Rae,  their middle child and only daughter and  Evan, their youngest son.

Everyone should go see Bruce Springsteen on Broadway!  I know that my teacher, Mrs. Sped, really wants to see Springsteen on Broadway!   It would be really fun and a great show to see!
